- people should debate in order to increase their knowledge about facts and everything that surrounds them
- widen their ideas about the world today especially the system of government and other concerned issues that need to be tackled
- to be able to distinguish advantages and disadvantages of the issue
- to exchange knowledge and points of view
- to practice oral and verbal communication
- to actively participate and practice social development
- to be more sensitive around the society and increase self confidence
